Gahanna, OH — In a move that has stunned both the brewing and tech industries, Edison Brewing Company has announced its acquisition of the stalled Intel chip manufacturing site in central Ohio. The brewery plans to convert the site into what it is boldly calling “The Greatest Fermentation Project in Human History.”
At the heart of this grand endeavor? The world’s largest craft brewery — with production capacity topping 1 million barrels per year, a self-contained barley and hops farming operation, and, most notably, a modular nuclear reactor designed exclusively to power the plant’s extensive beer infrastructure.
“Why make microchips when you can make microbrews?” said Zac Baaske, Edison’s Head Brewer and Chief of Atomic Ales, while standing atop a stainless steel fermenter and sipping a triple dry-hopped hefeweizen. “This is beer-fueled energy. Literally.”

Thousands of acres of barley, wheat, rye, oats, and hops will surround the facility, forming the largest contiguous self-sustaining Agri-zone in the Western Hemisphere.

Custom-built Edison Express™ trams will connect the site directly to New Albany, Westerville, and eventually downtown Columbus via the International Airport.

A small modular nuclear reactor, originally designed for lunar outposts, will power the brewery. All excess heat will be repurposed to boil wort, dry hops, and toast artisanal beer pretzels.

Wind turbines will draw ancient glacial water trapped in limestone aquifers — filtered by time, blessed by yeast gods.

Featuring the Yeast Beast rollercoaster, Lager Lagoon, and IPA Island, plus a 60-foot talking beer can that teaches kids about fermentation and fiscal policy.
A Revolution in Brewing (and Urban Planning)
“We’re not just making beer,” said Wil Schulze, Edison’s CEO. “We’re reshaping Ohio into a hops-powered utopia. If Willy Wonka ran a brewery and had a nuclear license, this is what it would look like.”
Construction begins this summer, with a soft launch on April 1, 2026 (if everything goes according to plan, which it won’t).
